Studying at a partner college for a semester – the benefits and how it all works

Teachers are increasingly confronted with a multicultural and international environment and are required to prepare their students for this, too. Getting to know other school, university and educational systems and experiencing the educational environment of another country are therefore integral parts of the learning and development plan of PHTG's students.
This is why the domestic and international exchange programmes have been tailored to the various study programmes. When studying at PHTG, students can spend one semester at another teacher training college or university in Switzerland or at one of around 20 partner colleges or universities in Europe or overseas and count the results of this period as credits towards their course at PHTG. This is part of Erasmus/SEMP or another exchange programme or bilateral cooperation agreement. Students and staff can choose from the following options with regard to an exchange:

Exchange programmes in Switzerland
SEMP (Europe)
Global exchange programmes
Independently organised exchanges

For more detailed information on the individual partner colleges and exchange destinations, please refer to the fact sheets in the Partner Colleges tab. Gerit Jaritz and Marcus Schmidt of the International Office are available to answer any questions in this regard. Furthermore, the experience reports of previous students on ILIAS offer a wealth of details and useful information.
