Studying at another Swiss teacher-training college or university for a semester offers students the opportunity to discover Switzerland's cultural and linguistic diversity. It is therefore particularly advisable to choose an institute in the French-speaking or the Italian-speaking part of Switzerland. However, teacher-training colleges in German-speaking Switzerland also offer interesting opportunities enabling students to set an individual study focus and familiarise themselves with a different training scheme.

Whether or not a student's application is successful is at the sole discretion of the partner college. PHTG students are exempt from having to pay study fees as they are registered at PHTG for the entire period of their exchange.
