Exchange semesters for pre-school/primary school level students

For students training for pre-school and primary school teaching, PHTG offers the option to spend one semester at another college or university in the context of their final-year project. Therefore, the 5th semester (approx. October until December/January) is the only time students can do an exchange within the regular study period. However, there is also the option of adding an exchange after finishing the regular course, as a 7th semester. When choosing this option, students are registered for an additional semester and benefit from a slightly extended and more flexible exchange semester term (August until December/January).

Exchange semesters for secondary school level I students

Secondary school level I students can opt for an exchange in their 3rd to 5th semester or as an additional 10th semester. Students intending to go on an exchange need to contact the Head of Academic Mobility and International Relations in due time and are required to submit a letter of motivation by 20 February of the academic year preceding the intended exchange.

When selecting a partner college, students must verify that institute's suitability in terms of their specific course and the personal range of subjects. Definitive placements will usually be effected by the end of March, on the basis of students' letters of motivation. Placements depend on the compatibility of students' desired study programmes and the selected institute's course range.
