SEMP

SEMP - The Swiss Program to Erasmus+

The Swiss-European Mobility Program (SEMP) is largely based on the European education program Erasmus+. The primary goal of SEMP student mobility is to promote the mobility of university students and university staff. Students are offered the opportunity to spend an exchange semester  at European partner universities within the framework of bilateral cooperation agreements. The number of study places to be awarded is limited and varies depending on the partner university.

Students remain enrolled at PHTG during their exchange semester and are thus exempt from tuition fees at the host university. SEMP students also usually receive a study grant to cover the additional costs, to which, however, there is no legal entitlement. The amount depends on the specific duration of the courses attended at the host university and currently ranges from 1330 - 1900 CHF per semester. Students who choose an environmentally friendly means of transportation will also receive a "Green Travel" bonus.

Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP)

All exchange activities with PHTG's Erasmus partner colleges are under the Swiss-European Mobility Programme (SEMP). During the exchange programme, the students remain registered at PHTG and are thus exempt from having to pay study fees at the partner college or university. Students in the Erasmus programme are usually paid an additional amount (at present, this amounts to CHF 300 per month) for covering the extra cost. However, there is no legal claim for this extra amount to be paid out.
