Overseas partner universities

Global exchange programmes

PHTG also offers exchange programmes in cooperation with partner universities and colleges overseas. In the context of these exchange programmes, PHTG students are exempt from having to pay study fees at the partner university or college.

University of Hawai’i at Manoa (UHM), Honolulu, USA (secondary school level I)

The University of Hawai’i at Manoa with its 14 colleges is the flagship campus of the University of Hawai’i System. It is located in the lush and rainbow-filled Manoa Valley just outside downtown Honolulu. Students of our Secondary Education programme have the opportunity to choose from a wide range of subjects and courses according to their interests and needs. Furthermore, studying at UHM provides the chance to have a unique multicultural global experience in a place of learning where East meets West.

Lesley University, Boston, USA (secondary school level I)

The beautiful campus of Lesley University is located in the US state of Massachusetts, only kilometres away from Boston. Lesley University has approximately 7,300 registered students, and PHTG exchange students have access to the entire study programme. This comprises numerous modules in different education programmes and a broad range of technical modules relevant for secondary school level I students. More information can be found here.

Gordon College of Education, Haifa, Israel (primary, secondary school level I)

Gordon College is a reputed teacher-training institute in Northern Israel and known for its endeavours to achieve tolerance and peaceful coexistence between the various cultural, ethnic and religious groups in Israel. Gordon College runs the country's only Multicultural Educational Resource Centre and offers comprehensive training in teaching in English.

Since the 2008/09 academic year, students can also obtain scholarships of CHF 2,500 for an exchange at Gordon College. A scholarship of four months including an allowance for travel expenses is intended to cover extra cost and promote exchanges with Israel. The Lion Foundation in Kreuzlingen has assured financing for this scholarship for PHTG students.

Capital Normal University Beijing, China (primary school)

The Capital Normal University in Beijing has been a partner university of PHTG's since 2005. It consists of 17 colleges and departments training approximately 25,000 students. PHTG students can mainly attend modules of the College of Elementary Education and the College of English Education (English teachers).

National Taipei University of Education, Taiwan (primary school)

National Taipei University of Education (NTUE) is located in the heart of Taipei's cultural and financial district and comprises 3 colleges, namely Education,Humanities and Arts. With more than 120 years of history in teacher education, NTUE plays an important role in the development of primary education and teacher training programs, and is highly regarded as an essential figure of educational services.

University of Cape Coast, Ghana (primary, secondary school level I)

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) is among the top Universities in Ghana and comprises 5 colleges and 14 faculties. Approximately 40% of the students are enrolled in the College of Education qualifying as teachers. The UCC campus is located in the coastal town Cape Coast, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
