At present, Switzerland is not a member state in the Erasmus programme. However, the Swiss Federal Council, in April 2014, found a transitional solution for Erasmus+ in the form of an indirect participation for the 2014/15 and 2015/16 academic years (the Swiss European Mobility Programme (SEMP). For this reason, all exchange activities are financed entirely by Switzerland.
Until further notice, Erasmus students from partner colleges and universities will be awarded a scholarship directly by PHTG and not by their home university. Depending on a student's home country, the monthly scholarship rate is CHF 380.- or CHF 440-. The scholarship fees are paid out in cash and usually deducted from the monthly room rent.
Applications for the autumn semester can be submitted by 1 May each year, and applications for the spring semester by 1 November each year.
